Girls Day&Night Out In Vancouver

May 27, 2008

We are back from Vancouver.

Naoko, Keiko and I had so much fun :) I love you two!

And, Kudos to Simon, who became our chaperone for the night, if you know what I mean!

More stuff to write about our fabulous Vancouver trip later – I seriously need to go to sleep now.

Work and stuff,  crazy regular routine has to start now :)

Boeing Tour Rocks!

May 24, 2008

Here are some of the things I did in last 3 days:

* Underground Tour

* Smith Tower Observation Deck

* Columbia Tower Observation Deck

* Museum of Flight

* Boeing Factory Tour

I LOVED Boeing tour – you get to see the real airplanes being made! Those are just cool sights – kind of like Monsters Inc. movie, except they are not monsters. They are airplanes and real people. Some of them looked like monsters, but I am sure they are not.

Dreamliner (787) is definitely a major attraction now at the factory. It’s huge, it’s stylish, and it’s light. I did not actually try to lift it or anything, but I saw the material and stuff and it’s surprisingly thin. Amazing.

I was also impressed by the tour guide’s knowledge and friendliness. The tour facility has a very nice gift shop and again, very friendly staff. Too bad that its headquarter has moved to Chicago (booo) but we, Puget Sounders, totally feel that Boeing is OUR company!

Yoshida Brothers In Seattle

May 22, 2008

What can I say – they are very talented musicians, but they are not the best entertainers.

They certainly have potential to be popular and famous in the US,  but they probably want to learn more about how to entertain and attract the audience - just my opinion – and I might be totally wrong.

But, I have to say, Triple Door is great – it is one of my favorite places to hang out in Seattle. Oh we also went to War Room’s 80’s night – Yeah, baby!

Dunn Garden

May 19, 2008

Thanks to our friend, who is a board member of Dunn Garden Preservation something, we got to go to wine tasting party at the garden. I am terribly allergic to alcohol, so wine part was not attractive for me. The party part and garden part were great!

I was very happy to be a designated driver to go out for dinner afterwards – obviously guys had a lot to drink and enjoyed their time :)

Actually, we all had a great time. Anyway, what happens in Dunn Garden, stays in Dunn Garden :)

Neighbors

May 17, 2008

I danced at Neighbors in Capital Hill.

Even though the night was full of Techno music with powerful (and beautiful?) transvestites dancing, the song I was thinking about was “What a Wonderful World” by Satchmo or IZ. I think it’s great that we have a place that gays can freely express their affection, and be comfortable about themselves. It is a wonderful world. Wish all the places are like that :(

Anyway, it was a great night – Mama got to dance the night off once in a while!

And sometimes…

May 15, 2008

I wonder why ladies are attracted to guys in uniforms…

Sometimes…

May 15, 2008

I wonder why guys are attracted to women in suits.

My predictions

May 14, 2008

I think I am going to move to Hawaii in 6 years.

I think Meredith and Derek will get back together and Hann will become openly gay.

I think I will get a Honu tattoo in November.

I think Staffan finds it more fun to fly to Japan alone.

I think I am only going to be nice to people who deserve my niceness.

Quote for Delaware

May 14, 2008

One of my jobs is to write a monthly column about crazy American culture – for a Japanese magazine.

It’s great to get paid to write about something so easily found in my life – crazy Americans (and I am one of them, baby!)

Anyway, I was trying to find a “quote” to describe Delaware state for this month’s article. Very difficult. It’s a small state, even though it is the “first state”, and not many famous people I can find besides Valerie Bertinelli. I did not want to use her quotes, as I like Eddie Van Halen and she says mean things about him.

So…

After a lot of stressful search for a perfect quote for Delaware, I found this. Olof thinks it’s brilliant – I think so, too :)

Salon Stephen Crago Inc.

May 9, 2008

Salon Stephen Crago in Shoreline — LOVED THAT PLACE!

I think I finally found MY salon in Seattle area :)

Steve is such a great guy, and he is so fabulous – he is sweet, funny I feel like I have known him forever – he is so lovely. It’s almost like a movie “Steal Magnolia” people just chat and relax at the salon – it’s not just a “hair cut” it’s an experience.

So, if you are ever in town and feel an urge to take care of your hair,go to:
